In 2020, we developed the brand, logo, and business plan for WikiCharities. We also started developing the platform, WikiCharities.org. We officially launched our website in 2021. WikiCharities became the largest open-access global database of nonprofits in the world once we added Canadian charities to our database in 2023.
WikiCharities is currently being ran by our Internship Program as we develop new marketing materials, outreach to potential partners and more. As funding comes in, all funding currently goes towards the development of features and improving our validation process.
Our immediately struggle is to bring awareness to our platform around the world. We are looking for like-minded partners to help fund the building of features, adding different countries to our database and continually improving our platform.
We currently have partnerships with the following entities: - Brigham Young University: helps us run our academic journal, The Journal of Nonprofit Innovation - Venturefy: a company-based in Israel, helping us to show relationships between nonprofits and for-profit companies. - Nonprofit Hive: a canadian-based company, helping to expand connection between nonprofit leaders.

WikiCharities launched a new international open-access journal for the nonprofit sector in 2021 called the Journal of Nonprofit Innovation (JoNI). Since our launch, the journal is now being downloaded in over 130 countries around the world.
Currently, JoNI is being run by volunteers from WikiCharities and students from different Universities (BYU, Boise State, Utah Valley Univ and Stanford University).
We are raising funds to help bring JoNI into a more sustainable model to pay students interns, build our website and become members of international journal organizations to expand our outreach.

We want to help 100 Utah-based nonprofits improve trust with those who support them by helping nonprofits become more visible online with WikiCharities.
Funding: We want to help 100 nonprofits go through our validation process in Utah.
Volunteers: We want to train validation specialists to help review nonprofit validation submissions.
Update: This pilot was successful as we ran Utah based nonprofits through our validation process, and smoothed out a lot of areas to make it a better process for others around the world.

WikiCharities will be working with Studio Newf, a production and design studio, to create three informaional short-form video campagins. These videos will be crucial to share the good work of WikiCharities and help break down the basics of what we do for both the charities and donors through a "Tell Your Story" Campaign. If you want to donate to "Tell Your Story" campagin, your donation will go straight into the production to create these stories to benefit nonprofits. We aim to hit our budget of $30K, and we have raised half of that so far. We would be grateful for your support! Donate through our paypal link button below.

WikiCharities wants to reduce the burden on funders to collect data and vet nonprofits prior to giving. We provide a way for foundations and funders to track nonprofits they fund and have a way for them to report back on the progress of projects.
Funders will have the ability to post grants and find nonprofits who fit their requirements for the grant. This system will also send out reminders for nonprofits to get validated, send projects updates and more.
